Xperia X8 dibanderol Rp 2 - 2,5 juta

Di antara vendor smartphone, Sony Ericsson termasuk yang gencar menggelontorkan perangkat berbasis android.

Saat ini sudah tiga model yang dikeluarkannya sejak awal tahun 2010. Semuanya di bawah brand Xperia, dari Xperia X10, X10 Mini, dan X10 Mini Pro. Model keempat siap dirilis Oktober nanti Xperia X8.

Xperia X8 datang dengan tema desain yang tak jauh berbeda dengan tiga pendahulunya. Hanya saja ukurannya lebih kecil daripada X10 namun sedikit lebih besar daripada X10 Mini dan X10 Mini Pro.

"X8 dirancang untuk pengguna yang butuh layar lebih lebar dan harga yang lebih terjangkau", kata Hanny Sanjaya, Business Manager Sony Ericsson Indonesia saat memperkenalkan Xperia X8 di Jakarta, Kamis (23/9/2010).

Ukuran layar X8 selebar 3 inci, sedangkan X10 selebar 4 inci dan X10 Mini dan Mini Pro selebar 2.6 inci. Meski dari sisi ukuran layar sedikit lebih besar, harga yang dibanderol untuk Xperia X8 lebih miring. Sony Ericsson mematok harga perdana antara Rp. 2 juta hingga Rp. 2,5 juta. Bandingkan dengan harga X10 yang masih dikisaran Rp. 6 juta dan X10 Mini dan Mini Pro yang di atas Rp 2,5 juta.

Menurut Hanny, produk-produk smartphone berbasis Android menyasar pengguna muda berusia antara 25-35 tahun. Semua smartphone Sony Ericsson ini menyasar kebutuhan konsumen akan perangkat komunikasi dan hiburan.
